Experience Day

It should be great fun on Sunday at Jo's Experience Day. There was so much oooohing and aaahing at her new supplies on Thursday that it's really got me fired up again. The new papers are so gorgeous they have to be stroked to be believed. I will be making two presentations during the day and by then hopefully have some samples to back them up. lol. Huge chunks of life keep getting in the way of my crafting and I really notice it affecting my mood after a while, so it's nice to get stuck back in ............ and I can't wait.

Wonder if David fancies taking the children out tomorrow so I can get on with crafting ???

I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday and hope you can make it ! x

All the excitement !

Is it that long since I posted ???

There is sooooo much going on justnow, I don't know which way is up. What with the new catalogue, so much lovely new stuff to play with, classes to plan, planning stuff for the longer term AND how can we forget ................... Convention !!!! I just can't wait. And if my new dress turns up I will have something to wear. lol

With each post, I'd like to show you a picture......... stuff I've made......... work in progress........ classes to get excited about etc etc. That's my aim anyhow - I am not there *yet*. So rather than doing plain text, I've been holding off, and I shouldn't, because I know I have lovely readers out there waiting for something new.

I wish I was up and running like all the rest.

However, I am demonstrating on Sunday alongside Jo and others on a Craft Day. Contact me if you want more info and I will update you in my next post.

Thanks for reading. x

Welcome back.............

to my badly kept blog and apologies to those who thought I'd slipped off the radar altogether. I will try and be a better blogger !

So much has happened since my last post - not least the school holidays ! The children had a blast of a time as we have started camping this year and have been away several times. At first we struggled to get it all in one car, but read that as 'struggled to get it back in the car' so the idea for keeping it local was a good one. I had never been camping before so I didn't really know what to expect. Far are the days of tent in the middle of a field which was always the image I held in my mind. We like camping in the forest amongst the pine trees losing all sense of direction. It was so relaxing and we could quite honestly been in the middle of anywhere, and in less than half an hour be back home.

Besides that, there has been a lot of decluttering gone on in this house and the difference is amazing. We are still not done with it but because the extension work is moving on, there is 'stuff' in places where there wouldn't normally be stuff. And so it goes on. Roll on Christmas that's what I say.

Can't believe I really said that, I've a ton of stuff to do before then ! Tell you next time. Take care.

Glittery Studio

That should be the new title of this blog because I hadn't noticed my Really (un)Useful Box of Dazzling Diamonds had tipped on it's side, and lets just say, it's not airtight. I must say though, it does look very pretty ! Now I know why you girls tip them back into their original container. That part of my worktop will now have to be cleaned because it's everywhere :( Lets hope the old adage holds true........ and that a little goes a long way ! Every minute speck of glitter must have caught the light as I dusted them off and it looked spectacular as they fell to the floor - like one of those fireworks that makes you go 'WOW'. That's my lesson for today anyhow.

Perpetual Calendar

'A Perfect Day' is the title of this calendar, printed on the heart at the back of the pot. I had great fun making it and gave it to my friend for her birthday. A long time in the making, it was originally done in a different set of papers but the launch of these gorgeous Designer Series 'Cottage Wall' became an instant favourite of hers and the calendar was re-done. My greatest regret is that I cannot remember the name of the original artist so I'm unable to credit her properly. A true work of art that has been on my mind ever since. Everything in the pot is on a straw and supported by bamboo skewers poked into dry oasis. To hide the oasis, I cut a circle of paper for the top and tipped some tiny gold coloured stones on top of that.

Vintage Vogue card set

In lovely Lilac and Almost Amethyst, these 4" cards and box are a cut-down version of Jo's Desktop Card Holder which I have been trying to link to and can't. Jo's blog is www.stampin-n-stuff.blogspot.com and you will find it amongst her labels. This stamp set is my favourite of them all and is so versatile. Look back soon as lots more is in the pipeline ! Promise I will take future pictures in daylight so that the colours come out truer.

The Nappy Cake...

At last, the long-awaited picture of the nappy cake. On the top is two cute pairs of socks which I couldn't get to hold in the shape of roses - no matter how much I tried ! However, the cake (and socks) will soon be delivered to my friends whose little girl is 12 weeks old ......... yikes!

Reverse Canvas

Posted by Picasa

Having returned from a fabulous weekend retreat at Runways End, I have captured a few photos of a reverse canvas I made using paper from the Sweet Pea collection. It is a 10" square artists box canvas which I turned over and decorated the insides of, added a photo to, a layer of acrylic to seal it, a mitred frame, contrasting border round the outside edge, title, flower, ribbon, and ofcourse the beautiful birdies which I'm addicted to !

Weekend of crafting !

Yippeeeee, a whole weekend of non-stop crafting, friends and the odd glass of creative juice !! It's the twice yearly event in Aldershot consisting mainly of regulars and it is great to catch up with everyone and take part in all the fun. Even at this late hour, I'm still not packed so have to get down to that in a minute. Trouble is, I want to take it all so better get focussed. Pop back later to see my new creations !

Today's the day !

that my next SU! box arrives ! Can you tell I'm excited ? According to my tracker, my supply of long-awaited goodies has been in Barking for four days. I'm not sure quite how much weight to put on it but I guess it has something to do with the Bank Holiday. I shall be checking...........

Cute little bird houses !

I just love the new two step bird punch from the mini catalogue and couldn't wait to show you these ! The cardstock is Pumkin Pie, Taken with Teal and Certainly Celery, combined with co-ordinating papers from the gorgeous new Sweet Pea stack, also from the mini. Thanks to Jo for sharing these after seeing this one by Mary Fish. Mary is very talented and I love her work. We are sure to be seeing more of these around.

Monday 5 April 2010

I shouldn't promise you photos..........

until I know I can deliver. Just a few technical problems at this end, but I'm getting there. This blogging stuff is a sharp learning curve ! My computer is from Mars and my camera from Venus, you see, so sometimes they get in a huff and don't talk to each other. lol Pop back soon after I've burnt more midnight oil.

Sunday 4 April 2010

Happy Easter everyone !

Happy Easter and thanks for looking in. I hope you are all having a relaxing day with the cooking and washing up done for you, and eating lots of chocs ! My lot have all gone out and while I wanted to get on with crafting, I've been terribly sidetracked by the wonderful blog hop (featured last Sunday) which I still haven't managed to get round. There is so much amazing stuff on there, and inspirational too. Stampin' Up! definitely has the most wonderful crafters I have seen !

Saturday 3 April 2010

Just one more day.................

of the builders being in and this stage of the build is complete ! Notice I didn't say 'finished'. That's because there is still a huge amount to do. But at least our guest room will be usable as a guest room and not just for storing junk. lol. ...or the ironing.... or anything else we just don't have a place for. What we have created is a lovely new larder/bulk storage area which also houses the hoover, vax and suchlike. Multi-tasking is something I know a lot about. The main part of the extension - the sun lounge - is tidier because the home cinema has been suitably configured and the audio/visual stuff built into a unit. Sounds little but makes so much difference. I feel I'm closer to my first open day !!!

Hopefully I will have some photos to show you tomorrow of the boxes I've been making. See you then.

Another day without crafting

I've tried to do a bit more organising today in the studio, but you know what it's like, it has to get worse before it gets better. I have lots of ideas buzzing round in my head and it's like not knowing where to start - not to mention my UFO's (unfinished objects). lol Speaking of which..... friends of mine had a new baby girl a few weeks ago and she's so gorgeous. And always asleep ! How cute is that ? Anyway, I'm in the process of making a nappy cake for them so that really should be first on my list. I will post some piccies when it's done.

Wednesday 24 March 2010

A new box has arrived !

My lovely UPS man left me a parcel today before I got home from the dentist, so that was very nice of him. Nothing better to cure the pain of extraction ! The beautiful Sweet Pea Stack and its embellishments have arrived, along with the birdie punch (don't you just love it?), some gorgeous olive satin ribbon, and a wonderful set of Fresh Cuts - wow ! Now........... crafting or Tesco's ? Difficult choice ! LOL

Regional Training Day

Wow! Last Saturday was my very first SU Training Day and it was absolutely fabulous! Everything about it was so inspirational and I have taken home the most beautiful card swops. Those ladies are soooo clever and I can't wait to be like them LOL. It was great also to celebrate the amazing achievements of many there, including Jenny who has reached more than £50,000 in personal sales !! I was fortunate to travel up with Helen, Alison, and the lovely Jo who did all the driving. Thanks girls for a brilliant day !
